Our Business English Classes
Our Business English classes can include any of the following topics to suit the student's needs.
Business Language
We introduce the student to the language of business. Students review business vocabulary, read articles pertaining to their areas of interest, and write business letters, reports and memos.
Pronunciation
This class helps students improve their pronunciation and their ability to distinguish sounds, words and sentences in English. Stress and intonation are worked on, as well.
American and English Idioms
Students learn and practice idiomatic speech using expressions frequently heard in conversational English, with the goal of improving their ability to understand informal communication, whether spoken or written.
American Film
Throughout the session, students view several films with a common theme. The emphasis is on listening comprehension, vocabulary development and discussion of the films.
Current Events
Students discuss issues of local, state, national and international significance. Vocabulary, idioms and language generally used in news reporting are reviewed. Material for the class may be drawn from newspapers, magazines, television, radio or guest speakers
Foreign Business Culture
This is ideal for students who spend a lot of time abroad - we show them how to integrate themselves in the business and social culture whether that be in the USA, Europe, or Australia / New Zealand.
